Sedo is committed to helping individuals and businesses find their ideal domain name. We have, in 2010, again invested heavily in our marketing and sales resources in order to ensure our domain brokerage clients get more at Sedo. This year alone, we have invested in modernizing our domain transfer system, improving our domain search and customer support system, making our site more user-friendly, and securing top-class domain name brokers.
These investments help provide Sedo's members the services needed to find the right domain names in today's highly competitive online space. In reflection of these investments and an increased demand for highly personnel-intensive brokerage, we will increase the commission on successful domain sales enabled by our sales team from 10% to 15%. This change goes into effect on January 4, 2011.
Commission is still only charged on successful domain acquisitions or sales, and all customers can still benefit from Sedo's domain brokerage service for the unchanged price of $69.
Our commission fee is still among the lowest in the industry, despite record-breaking domain sales which we want to continue in 2011. Last year, Sedo brokered 55% of the top 20 highest value domain sales, totaling over $23 million.
There's never a good time to announce an increase in prices, and we know that costs are increasing everywhere. It's our goal to ensure that Sedo's international team of brokers, working in more than twenty languages, can secure even more sales for you in 2011.
